Is the glass lunch bowl microwave safe?
Yes, the borosilicate glass bowl, wood fiber base, and silicone lid are microwave-safe. However, the steel lid is not microwave-safe. Lift the silicone lid slightly and push the tab detail into the rim of the glass bowl to create a gap. This ensures that the lid does not get sucked into the bowl during microwave cooking. Keeping the silicone lid on while microwaving ensures that heated food does not splash inside the microwave. The wood fiber base does not retain heat and makes it easy to remove the bowl from the microwave without burning your hands. Two minutes maximum at a time. Stir and repeat if more heating is needed.

Is it oven safe?
Yes, the borosilicate glass bowl (alone) and silicone lid are oven safe. WARNING: Glass is susceptible to thermal shock. AVOID SUDDEN CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE – this will cause the bowl to crack. When heating food, be sure to preheat the oven first. DO NOT use the grill or allow direct contact with gas flames. Do not place the glass in a preheated oven directly from the refrigerator or freezer (let it adjust to room temperature before placing it in the oven). When removing the glass from the oven, DO NOT place it on a cold surface or run it under a cold tap.

Is the Glass Lunch Bowl dishwasher safe?
Yes, all items can be washed in the sink, but we recommend the top rack. To avoid thermal shock (a sudden change in temperature that can cause the glass to break), be careful to let the glass cool after the cycle, before exposing it to cold elements such as food or placing it in the refrigerator/freezer.

Is it freezer safe?
Yes, all pieces can be frozen. Be careful to avoid overfilling the bowl with liquid foods, as they expand when frozen (approximately 9%). Allow to thaw completely before microwaving/reheating (do not thaw in microwave).

How do I make the stainless steel lid easier to open?
If your lid is hard to turn and difficult to open, clean the inner surface of the thread with vegetable oil and then dry. This will make it easier to open. Do not attempt to close the steel lid over the wood fiber base without applying the glass and silicone lid.

What is the wood fiber bowl made of?
The base bowl is made from a blend of polypropylene and 30% sustainably sourced PEFC wood fiber.
