Can I put the Large Glass Lunch Box in the microwave?
The only part of the large glass lunch box that is NOT microwave safe is the stainless steel lid, otherwise the glass jar, wood fiber base, and silicone lid are microwave safe. The silicone lid makes for easy, splash-proof heating, and to ensure you don't get sucked into the pan while heating, lift the lid and push the tab detail inwards to create an air gap. Heat your glass lunch box inside the fiberboard base, as it does not retain heat and is therefore safe to handle. Food should be heated for a maximum of 2 minutes at a time, stir and repeat if necessary.
Can I use the Large Glass Lunch Box in the oven?
The only parts of the product that can go in the oven are the borosilicate glass jar and the silicone lid. However, you must ensure that the glass is at room temperature before placing it in the oven, as glass is susceptible to thermal shock (meaning a sudden change in temperature) - which would cause it to break. When removing glass from the oven, AVOID rinsing it with cold water or placing it on a cold surface. DO NOT allow direct contact with flames or use under the grill.
Can I put the large glass lunch box in the sink?
For optimal product maintenance, place items in the top rack of your dishwasher. Try to avoid placing the glass pan under cold water or on a cold surface if it is hot from the dishwasher, as this can cause it to break.
Can I put the large glass lunch box in the freezer?
You can place all the pieces in the freezer, however, since liquids expand when frozen, be sure to leave space and not overfill. Make sure food has thawed completely and reached room temperature before reheating. DO NOT use a microwave or oven to thaw.
The stainless steel lid sometimes feels quite hard, how can I fix this?
Simply wipe the inside of the lid with vegetable oil and let it dry if you find it gets hard after using it a few times. Always make sure the glass jar and silicone lid are INSIDE the wood fiber base before attempting to close it, as the stainless steel lid may become stuck when empty.
